Cardiff Cross Country Challenge

The Cardiff Cross Challenge was founded in 1997, and took place inside the Castle walls for two years, since when it has grown into one of the most prestigious Cross Country events in the UK.
Our event regularly hosts Inter-area match’s, and has held Home Country International’s on numerous occasions. In 2000 we played host to the AAA Inter-Counties Championships which now takes place annually in Birmingham.
The 2016 Event takes place on Sunday 24th January in Blackweir Fields, just north of the City Centre, and alongside the River Taff.
All races are fully marshalled, and the course is marked to national standards.
Changing rooms, showers and toilets can be found on the course.
St John’s Ambulance will be in attendance. Sports massage therapy, a Sports shop and Catering facilities will be available. Hotel accommodation is available nearby, and more information can be found on the travel Page.
