Badminton Horsless 5 mile canicross
02 October 2016
ALTHOUGH ONLINE ENTRY HAS CLOSED YOU CAN STILL ENTER ON THE DAY.
This unique event, now in its 33rd year, is run by The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds to raise money for local charities. It is held in Badminton Park in Gloucestershire, and the all-terrain course takes the runners over some of the world-famous Horse Trials obstacles, in sight of the deer herds, and through fields and woods.
Runners can enter as individuals or in teams for the half-marathon, 9 or 5 mile categories. Canicross runners can enter for either 9 or 5 miles. Juniors aged 15 or under on 2nd October 2016 may enter the 5 mile category.
Individual entries are £20 per adult, and adult team entries are £80 per team of 4 or 5. Junior entries are £10 per person, and team entries are £40 per team of 4 or 5.
E-registration and chip timing for the event are being handled by Full on Sport. Entries received before Sunday 25th September will be sent a free car park ticket for the event. On the day entries will need to pay £5/car for a car park ticket on arrival.
Every entrant will receive a medal at the finish, and the winner of each category will receive a prize. The best fancy dress team, judged at the beginning of the race, will also receive a prize.
The course and obstacles are always well marked and well marshalled, with radios, water and First Aid available around the course. Spectators have a great time enjoying the park in the fine weather. Dogs are allowed but, with so many deer and sheep around, they must be kept on leads at all times.
Each year this event raises money for charities; in 2015 the money we raised went to the Air Ambulance Service, local air cadets, scout and girl guide groups and to a charity run by one of our Rotarians that supports street children in Nepal.
Gift Aid
By answering YES to the question ‘Are you claiming Gift Aid?’ on the Enter Race page, I confirm that I (the donor) have read this statement and want The Rotary Club of The South Cotswolds (the charity) to reclaim tax on the entry fee for this event (my donation), given on the date shown.
I understand that I must pay an amount of UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities and CASCs will claim on my donor gifts for a tax year, and that I am responsible to pay any difference. I understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I have given.
