Two Bays Tough Ten - The Friendly Five 2019
17 February 2019
Coming back for the third year, this 5 mile course contains sections of beach and promenade along closed roads, plus a trail within Worlebury Woods before returning to back to Weston beach. Undulating without being too taxing if 10 miles is not for you.
This 5 mile event has been introduced after a number of runners were looking for something less taxing than the 10 mile route. It is therefore aimed at beginners and those of you that may feel that a 10 mile race may be a little too challenging!
Although starting with the main event, the runners will all head along the Toll Road to Kewstoke where the race will split and return via Worlebury Woods. Don’t fear – the course will not follow the 10 mile route but will use the main track adjacent to the Toll Road. This contains sharp but short ups and downs, enough to get the heart pounding and the legs aching before returning to the beach at Weston Bay.
The same excellent facilities will be available at Weston College. In the race HQ there is a cafeteria and plenty of seating, along with hot showers for the runners. Out on the course there will be abundant marshals, a water station, plenty of first aid support .... and a traffic free running course!
Strictly no entries on the day!
Medals to all finishers
Engraved glass trophy to the winner of both the Men’s and Women’s races.
N.B. The results and prizes will be based on gun to tape order.
