Chew Valley 10K - 2015
21 June 2015
The 2015 event is set for Sunday 21st June – the hooter goes off at 9:30am.
Whether it’s your first race, or you are a seasoned runner in training for a summer or autumn full/half marathon, the Chew Valley 10k is here for you. It’s a fun and friendly atmosphere, and if you ignore the giant hill slap-bang in the middle of the course, it’s actually quite an enjoyable event.
If you needed more incentive, the Chew Valley 10k also has some prizes. Once the results are in and checked, there are trophies available to the winner overall, and then the winners in the following categories – Make you stay around after the run at the Village Hall to see the award ceremony.
Women – Under 20, 20 – 34, Vet 35, Vet 40, Vet 45, Vet 50, Vet 55, Vet 60
Men – Under 20, 20 – 39, Vet 40, Vet 45, Vet 50, Vet 55, Vet 60, Vet 65
On the day
The race starts at Bishop Sutton Village Hall, this would be the perfect location for family and friends to gather and cheer on the runners. Consider this Race HQ – we will have refreshments available, a BBQ, bouncy castles, a live band and much more planned – including freshly made cakes, now a traditional post run treat!
For the runners, the Hall is your point for pre-race registration, collecting your chip and numbers – including a box of safety pins because you always forget them, provides facilities for changing, toilets, shelter from the rain and a supervised bag drop centre. Strategically placed water stations will be plotted around the course, and First Aid cover will be provided by the Avon & Somerset Rescue Team.
We are fully aware that the 2015 event clashes with Fathers Day – so we plan to have something special for the dads that have given up their unique day to sprint around the Chew Valley. No idea what yet, but we have our thinking hats on!
The 2015 Chew Valley 10k and 1K Fun Run are helping to raise money for 3 local charities; Bloodbikes NICU Support, Above & Beyond, and the Bishop Sutton Primary School PTA.
Should you wish to run the event raising money for the Bloodbikes NICU Support or Above and Beyond, then send a message to hello@aboveandbeyond.org.uk or bloodbikes@hotmail.co.uk quoting the Chew Valley 10k
More detail will be confirmed as we near June 21st 2015, and this website will be updated as soon as information becomes available. Feel free to engage with us via our Facebook Page and Twitter Feeds.
