Badminton Horseless Team Event - Cani-cross 5 Miles

Badminton Horseless Team Event 2015 - Canni-cross 5 Miles
This is a unique opportunity to run over some of the world famous Badminton Horse Trials obstacles. Now in its 32nd year, this annual event is held by invitation of the Duke of Beaufort and is held on his estate. The all-terrain course takes the runners, cani-crossers and walkers along country tracks, in sight of the deer herds, and through fields and woods.
Cani-cross runners enter as individuals for the 5 mile event, doing the same course as other runners undertaking the 5 miles, albeit from a nearby, but separate start from other runners. They may run the rest of the 9 or 13 mile routes once they cross the timing mat at the end of the 5 miler, if they want to.
e-registration and chip timing for the event will be handled by Full On Sport.
With over thirty years of experience organising this event, members of the The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds ensure that every registered entrant gets a medal at the finish; in addition, the first runner over the line, and the winners of each category, receive a prize. The best fancy dress team, judged at the beginning of the race, also receives a prize.
The course and equestrian obstacles are always well marked and well marshalled, with radios, water and First Aid available around the course. Spectators have a great time enjoying the park in the fine weather. After the start they congregate mainly by the lake crossing; many pet dogs come too, but with so many deer and sheep around, they have to keep their owners on a lead.
In 2014, over 400 runners and numerous walkers took part, and they are estimated to have raised about £6,000 for charity by participating in the event. About half the money will have been raised by the enthusiastic runners as sponsorship from their friends, family and colleagues; the rest was raised from entry fees and was channelled to local causes by The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds.

Gift Aid
By ticking the question headed ‘Are you claiming Gift Aid?’ on the Enter Race page, I confirm that I am a UK Income or Capital Gains taxpayer.
I have read this statement and want The Rotary Club of The South Cotswolds (the charity) to reclaim tax on the entry fee for this event (my donation), given on the date shown.
I understand that I must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the tax year at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities and CASCs I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for the tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand the charity (The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds) will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I have given.
Further details about the event will be published in due course.
Free car park tickets will be sent to people who register before 1st October.
Race numbers will be issued on the day.
Timings for the day will be issued soon, and we plan for an 11 o'clock start.
Further information on this event will be available on the website of The Rotary Club of the South Cotswolds.
