Black Nore 10km 2025

Portishead Running Club's Black Nore 10km returns for 2025
This mixed-terrain 10km run kicks off in the scenic Portishead Lake Grounds. From there, runners head out along the coast path, following the edge of the Bristol Channel and soaking up sweeping views across the water to Wales.
You’ll pass the iconic Black Nore Lighthouse and continue along the coast path through the National Trust’s Redcliffe Bay. Though much of the route gently undulates along the channel, you’ll be tested midway with a steep climb that pulls you up and away from the water. But at the top, you’ll be rewarded with a water station—and the halfway point!
Next comes a steep descent on the road, sending you looping back around towards the lighthouse and the coast path once again. The final challenge greets you at the sailing club, with a short, sharp climb to the top of the old golf course. From here, you’ll catch a glimpse of where you began before one last surge.
Then it’s down to the esplanade for a fast finish to the line—met by cheers from the crowd, personal glory, and of course, your well-earned finisher’s medal.
This is a fun, multi terrain event. You should expect a mix of grass, mud, rocks and tarmac. It is suitable for runners of all abilities although care will be required as parts of the course are uneven and some areas may be slippery. For this reason, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or running with dogs.
The use of headphones during the race will not be permitted for safety reasons.
Minimum age 16.
