Brinkworth Bash 2018
30 September 2018
THE BRINKWORTH MULTI TERRAIN 10K BASH
This year's Brinkworth Bash will be the first league event of the new season for WORL (Wiltshire Off Road League) and will attract off road enthusiasts from all over Wiltshire and beyond. But off road newbies will also find it a great intro to off road running as it includes a variety of surfaces with quiet paths, tracks, byways and some minor lanes in rural North Wiltshire. The undulating and varied route is generally firm underfoot in September although a wet summer could make some sections interestingly muddy, as it did last year! But there are also some fast sections and in dry conditions we could easily see a new course record set.
The Start and Finish are in Brinkworth Recreation field, where free parking, a toilet block, a shelter/baggage tent, and cafe refreshments will be available. The field has a play area and there will also be a free bouncy castle.

THE ORGANISERS: The 'Bash' race day is organised by BSHS (Brinkworth Sports and Heritage Society) jointly with BEDSA (Brinkworth Earl Danby's School Association). BSHS exists to provide support for good causes in the village of Brinkworth and BEDSA is run by the parents and teachers of the local school to provide financial and other support for the village school. Both organisations are non profit making and are run entirely by volunteers. For runners who wish to use the race to raise money for other charitable causes, both BSHS and BEDSA are happy for them to do so.
The main 10k race will be run under the rules and permit cover of ARC (Association of Running Clubs). First aid services will be provided by St John Ambulance.
The 10k race will also be the first race in the new Wilts Off Road League (WORL) season and runners representing clubs in Wiltshire will be eligible to score both individual and team points.
