Cardiff Cross Oct 2017
14 October 2017
The Cardiff Cross Challenge will start the 2017 / 2018 British Athletics Cross Challenge Series following a move to a new October date.
The Event takes place on Saturday 14th October at Llandaff Fields, just north of the City Centre and will also host the first fixture in the 2017/2018 Gwent Cross Country League.
The new venue will offer a change of scenery for the Cardiff Cross Challenge which has been held in Bute Park for nearly two decades.
In that time it has welcomed many, if not most if the top British endurance runners including a large number of British Champions such as Frank Tickner, Peter Riley, Andy Vernon, Louise Damen and Dewi Griffiths.
Our races have also hosted several European Cross Country Champions including; Hayley Yelling, Charlotte Purdue and Gemma Steel.
The course takes runners around parkland and along woodland sections. All races are fully marshalled, and the course is marked to national standards. Changing rooms, showers and toilets are all provided.
St John Ambulance will be in attendance. Sports massage therapy, a Sports shop and Catering facilities will all be available. Hotel accommodation is located nearby, and more information can be found on the travel page of the race website.
