Grizzly 2022 - Paws For Thought
06 March 2022
While there are currently no local or Government COVID-19 restrictions in place which would prevent the event from taking place, there is no guarantee that restrictions will not be imposed before race day which may prevent the holding of the event. The race organisers will consider the safety of runners, marshals and other support groups when making any decision regarding any possible postponement or cancellation of the event. In the event of the race being postponed or cancelled, entrants may potentially lose all or a significant portion of their entry fee and runners should consider taking out their own personal insurance policy to cover such losses.
Please note the following:
1. You will need to set up a user account with Full On Sport to be able to submit an online entry.
2. If you already have a Full On Sport account, then please check and update any of your personal contact details.
3. Order confirmation emails will be sent to the email address that you have set your Full On Sport account with (rather than the email address used on the entry form). If a racer has a new email address, you will need to go to your Full On Sport profile and update it on there.
Entry fees (all including admin fee):
Full Grizzly Affiliated: £30
Full Grizzly Unaffiliated: £32
Cub: Affiliated: £20
Cub: Unaffiliated: £22
New for 2022:
Please note that this year entries are on a first come first served basis and a ballot for places is NOT being conducted. Once the race is full no additional places will be made available to runners although a change of runner process will be in operation as in previous years.
Note that this year runners will not receive a race t-shirt as part of their entry fee. We are exploring the possibility of runners being able to separately purchase a race t-shirt online and details of this process will follow separately.
Please also note that this year we are operating a cup-free race meaning that runners will have to carry their own water supply in bladder packs or their own cups which can be filled at water stations around the course.
Race and general entry details:
Please do not enter without having first read the full section Details of 2022 race HERE. We spend a lot of time correcting mistakes by people who have not read the instructions! Please also read the sections on the Grizzly race website which deal with our policy on places, transfers and refunds as well as the race rules, terms and conditions (including the section on "Liability").
Please be aware that both the 20 mile Grizzly and the 9 mile Cub present tough challenges over a multi-terrain route including bogs, streams, beaches, clifftops and ascents/descents up/down steep hills. Strict time cut-offs/shortcuts are imposed at various points around the course and please only enter and take part in the race if you are fit and healthy enough to do so. Please ensure that you review these time cut-offs/shortcuts on the Grizzly website as these cut-offs/shortcuts will be strictly imposed in 2022.
Please complete the Emergency Contact and Medical Notes sections of the entry form. This information may be shared with various race support groups, including our medical provider to assist them in their important support roles. Any information submitted will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy which can be found at http://www.axevalleyrunners.org.uk/grizzly/privacy
By taking part in the race, you agree to being photographed by the official race photographer.
