10:00am Race Start (The Academy Selsey, Secondary School)
A flat and fast 10K road race around the town of Selsey, taking in parts of the famous Bunn Leisure caravan site and the sea front, Starting and finishing at The Academy Selsey, Secondary School. Accurately measured and an ideal opportunity to gain a PB. The Start The start will be in Paddock Lane which a 150m walk from the school (follow signs and marshals instructions) and the finish will be within the school grounds. Please do not stand in the road at the start line before 9:50am. Please ensure you are lined up in Paddock Lane for 9:55am ready for a quick race briefing. This will be ready for a 10am prompt start.
The Route

There will also be a large map of the route on display, on the day of the race in the Race HQ. Marshals will be on the course guiding you along the route, along with a number of signs to ensure you don’t get lost. Please follow any instructions given to you by a Marshal. There may be some traffic on the course, so please be aware and be courteous towards vehicles when running on the road. Approx. 5km is run on private roads, so should see minimal traffic.
Water Stations
There will be a water station at approx 5km into the race. Please throw your cups into the bins provided once you are finished with them. There will be water/squash available at the finish as well.
Venue and Race HQ
The Academy Selsey, School Lane, Selsey, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 9EH. Based at Selsey’s only secondary school, the race HQ, start and finish, will be here. The HQ will be in the School’s Sports Hall, which will be signposted upon arrival to the school. Late entries, number and chip collection, information point and the prize giving will all be held in here.
Facilities
Toilets and Changing Facilities are available in the sports hall; portable toilets will also be provided outside.
Tea, Coffee, Cakes and a range of snacks will be available to purchase throughout the morning, provided by JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) with proceeds going to the charity.
First Aid
Sussex Medical Services will be providing medical assistance throughout the day. They will be based at the Race HQ. If at any point during the race you have a medical issue, please make yourself known to the nearest marshal, and they will be able to provide assistance and arrange for medical treatment if needed.
Race Numbers
All race numbers and chips are only available to be collected on the day of the race. This will be in the Race HQ. We will not be posting them out to you. Please allow sufficient time to collect your race number. The number collection desk will be open from 08:15am and will be closing at 09:50am promptly.
Prizes and Mementoes
Runners will receive a medal for finishing. Prizes will be awarded to the following categories: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall Male and Female. 1st and 2nd Over 40 Male/Female 1st and 2nd Over 50 Male/Female 1st and 2nd Over 60 Male/Female 1st Over 70 Male/Female 1st Under 20 Male/Female.
1st Male and 1st Female Club (3 to score)
Prizes will be presented at around 11:30am in the Sports Hall. Entry Fee- £13 UKA Affiliated Club Runners- £15 Unaffiliated Runners. Entries on the day will be subject to a £1 supplement, and subject to whether the entry limit has been reached. Please check this website for an update on entries.
