The Weekend of 10Ks
17 July 2020
We invite you to take part in the 80s themed "Weekend of 10K's" which is an extravaganza of North East 10K racing!
Race the 10K distance on the 17th, 18th, or 19th of July individually, in groups, or compete in an organised group time trial with us over the weekend. We will be organising a series of graded group 10k races spread out across the weekend at Tees Barrage (on a first come first serve basis). If you are unable to compete at The Tees Barrage then we encourage you to follow the theme of running along a river i.e. River Tees, River Wear, or the River Tyne. A special 80s music-themed T-shirt is available to buy along with your race entry.
Funds from your race entry will be going towards supporting the NHS.
The competition will be based on age-graded performances. Gift hampers sourced from North East businesses and medals will be awarded to the first 3 age-graded performances. A bottle of Steel River Gin and an official North East Project t-shirt or vest will be awarded to the best fancy dress based on our 1980s music theme. We want to see your fancy dress selfies! Post them in our Facebook group, Strava group, or email them directly to us.
All 10K results must be submitted to our North East Project Strava group or emailed directly to us.
A special 1980s music playlist will be available to download from us upon the entry process to make your 10k a special race!
Rules:
- Your 10K race must not contain more than 100ft of descent from start to finish.
- All 10K performances must be submitted to our Strava group at https://www.strava.com/clubs/northeastprojectrun
- Our graded 10K races will adhere to the latest government guidelines regarding COVID-19 and we expect you to do the same if competing in small groups.
We wish you the absolute best of luck with your 10K race!
Thanks,
Kieran, Ben, and the North East Project Team.
