1 Formula Fitness - Tri A Duathlon
4km Run ~ 15km Bike ~ 2km Run
This event is open to all abilities but is ideally suited for complete beginners looking for an introduction into the world of multidiscipline sports. It can also be useful for experienced athletes to work on their PB as well as practice transitions.
Registration
Registration will be inside the health club and will be open from 7:30am to collect your race number. The Kitchen will be open serving bacon rolls, cereal and porridge, fruit, toast and hot & cold drinks. Free parking is available onsite as well as showers and changing facilities.
Transition
The transition area will be located just outside the main carpark. Bikes and any additional kit should be racked and ready to go no later than 7:55am. Following this there will be a transition walk through and race briefing - It is essential that all participants are present for these.
The Course
Run:
The start and finish line is located next to the transition area. The first 4km run will head down Kingsmoor road, taking a left through the underpass and following the road to The White Horse pub where you will turn and head back to the health club, you will complete two laps for the first run and then just one lap for the second run.
Bike:
The bike course takes a left from the health club and heads up the hill into Pentlepoir. Turn right down Templebar Road, at the end make a right and head to the traffic lights in Broadmoor. Cross straight over on a green light then pedal on through to Jeffreyston. Take a left heading towards the school then take the second left hand turn. Follow the road and take the second left hand turn, head down hill towards the old carew road and take a left hand turn. Here you have two options: 1. join the main road and use the filter lane to turn right towards East Williamston or 2. follow the cycle path on the left and cross straight over the main road to head up the hill through to East Williamston. Turn right at the base of Templebar Road and head up for a left hand turn to take you back to transition for the second run.
Post Race
Following the adult race a junior race will take place, once all participants are on the second run we would kindly ask for bikes to be removed as soon as possible so the Juniors can get set up. Once both races have finished (Approximately 11:30am) we would like to invite everyone back to the club for some homemade cawl, free to all participants!
