3km Run ~ 20km Bike ~ 3km Run
This event is open to all abilities but is ideally suited for complete beginners looking for an introduction into the world of multidiscipline sports. It can also be useful for experienced athletes to work on their PB as well as practice transitions.
Registration
Registration will be inside the health club and will be open from 7:30am to collect your race number. The Kitchen will be open serving bacon rolls, cereal and porridge, fruit, toast and hot & cold drinks. Free parking is available onsite as well as showers and changing facilities.
Transition
The transition area will be located just outside the main carpark. Bikes and any additional kit should be racked and ready to go no later than 7:55am. Following this there will be a transition walk through and race briefing - It is essential that all participants are present for these.
The Course
Run:
The start and finish line is located next to the transition area. The 3km run will head down Kingsmoor road, following the road under the railway bridge and taking a left hand turn up Ivy Chimney Lane. When you reach the crossroads you turn left towards Kilgetty. Stick to the pavements as you run through the village to the White Horse Pub where you will take a left hand turn. Follow the road and head through the underpass before re-joining Kingsmoor Road and heading back to transition.
Bike:
The bike course takes a left from the health club and heads up the hill into Pentlepoir. Turn right down Templebar Road, at the end turn right and head to the traffic lights in Broadmoor. Cross straight over on a green light then pedal on through to Jeffreyston. Take a left heading towards the school and follow that road all the way along to Cresselly. Turn left towards Carew then take another left in front of the pub. Follow the road all the way through Sageston and Redberth until you meet the main road. Here you have two options: 1. join the main road and use the filter lane to turn right towards East Williamston or 2. follow the cycle path on the left and cross straight over the main road to head up the hill through to East Williamston. Once you've passed through the village turn right towards Cold Blow. At the junction turn left and follow the road back through Pentlepoir to the health club.
