In 2014, a member of Flyers Southend Running Group, Nick Palmer tragically passed away shortly after finishing the Southend Half Marathon.

The Finish Line Fund was set up to provide support to families who have been similarly affected by serious injury or death whilst participating in sporting activities in the East Essex area. The Finish Line Fund charity's primary role is to provide financial assistance to families affected by such a tragedy.

Fundraising through various events supported by the running community remains our core activity.
