Rushmoor Wellesley 10k 2017
08 October 2017
A 10k mixed road / off-road race with a medal and a technical t-shirt for just £13.00? Yep, that’s right. We’re not kidding about here.
Welcome to the Rushmoor Wellesley 10k, a community organised race, starting and finishing in the historic military town of Aldershot.
This race started in 2015 and was such a success that we've made it a permanent fixture in the running calendar. So why are we doing this all over again? It’s simple really… Because people want it! The last few years have seen a big increase in people taking more of an interest in their fitness. We’ve seen a big increase in people take up running, cycling and other fitness activities. Local running club and organisers of this event have seen a big increase in membership recently. All this points to one thing… We need a regular local race!
Blackwater Valley Runners has teamed up with Rushmoor Borough Council and GRNC (Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community) to organise this event. There has also been considerable sponsorship from Grainger, the developers responsible for the new Wellesley development in Aldershot. For those with a passion for running, or just want to try something new, there really is no better way to bring the community together.
The race starts at 10am on the polo fields opposite the stadium before finishing in the Army Rugby Stadium itself.

If you have entered either of these categories, be prepared to show proof of age at registration on race day. Those who have entered for a reduced entry place but do not qualify may be disqualified.
- Children are permitted to run in this event, although those under 11 cannot take part. Children 14 or under must be accompanied by an adult (somebody who is 18 or older) for the duration of the run. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
